Chapter History

At the University of Houston, Phi Mu is one of the seven Houston Panhellenic sororities on campus. Alpha Pi was installed at the University of Houston on February 4, 1956 by Hazel Falconer Benninghove and Loraine Bird Freear (Booth) with 13 collegians, 16 alumnae of the local sorority and 9 honorary members initiated.

Since then, we have been a very active part of campus life at the University of Houston. From Bid Day to Graduation and beyond, we have a commitment to sisterhood, scholarship, leadership, and philanthropy, as well as the history and traditions of our sorority and university.
